About

My current body of work draws on early childhood memories and experiences of transition and change. My family’s frequent moves across the country led to a sense of displacement which now manifests itself through the portrayal of specific memories of my youth.

A child’s living environment, family dynamics, and social groups outside of the home all play immense roles in the child’s development. A young person’s sense of identity can be deeply affected, even compromised, when these dynamics and living circumstances are in flux, and the environment, rather than one’s self, can take on added importance. I explore this idea in my work through various figurative and objective subjects.

I received my MFA in painting and drawing from Laguna College of Art & Design and teach fine art classes and workshops throughout Southern California.
